夜的思想           Thoughts of the night

每天                        Every day,

夜關上世界的房間            night closes the room of the world and

限制鳥的思想                limits the thoughts of birds.

在樹林裡                    In the forest,

枝葉的呼吸是唯一的聲音      the breath of leaves is the only sound.

還有蟲鳴                    And the cry of insects

應和著風的動向              answers the tendency of wind

書寫總在寂靜中進行          Writing is always doing in the silence.

在光的背後                  At the back of the light,

革命醞釀顛覆的動機          Revolution is brewing the motive of
                                               subverting.

微明的燭火中                From the dim candlelight,

語言復活                    languages revive and

並且引出                    draw forth

明天的日光                  the tomorrow sunshine.

作者介紹

        李敏勇（1947年11月20日－），臺灣知名詩人、文化評論人、翻譯家，出生於臺灣高雄縣旗山鎮，國立中興大學歷史學系畢業。

        1971年至今，李敏勇翻譯許多國外詩人的作品，本身的創作則以詩為大宗。2007年，獲得臺灣藝文界最高榮譽國家文藝獎。2009年，「第5屆格瑞納達國際詩會」邀請台灣詩人李敏勇參會，李詩人在詩會中唱頌"伊是咱的寶貝"，展現了台灣之光的精神。

Author Introduction:

        Li Min Yong(1947.11.20~), was the Taiwan famous poet, the culture critic and the translator. He was born in Kaohsiung county Qishan town, graduating from Department of History in National Chung Hsing University.

      1971 to date, Li Min Yong has been translating lots of foreign poet's poems; however, most of his own creations are poems. In 2007, he won the National Award for Arts, which is the highest honor in the world of arts in Taiwan. In 2009, Li Min Yong was invited to attend "V Festival Internacional de Poesía de Granada". Mr. Li recited the poetry "She is our treasure" in the poetry party, showing the spirit of ‘’the light of Taiwan’’.
